About minipapers
minipapers turns new research papers into one-page, plain-language summaries. It starts with weather and climate; more fields will follow.
How it works
Each day a program collects new open-access papers from Copernicus Publications journals, EGUsphere, arXiv and EarthArXiv. It picks the ones most useful to practitioners and asks an AI model (Claude, by Anthropic) to summarise each from its full text. A second automated pass checks every number and claim against the paper. Summaries that fail the check are not published.
Summaries can still be wrong. Each page links to the original paper. Read it before you rely on a result.
Preprints
Some papers are preprints: the authors have shared them before peer review. These carry a Preprint label. Their results may change.
Sources, figures and licences
Each summary names the authors, venue and DOI of the original. The wording is ours, not the authors'. A figure is shown only when the paper's licence allows reuse (Creative Commons Attribution, Attribution-ShareAlike, or public domain); it is credited under the image, resized, and otherwise unchanged.
Who runs it
minipapers is a personal project. It is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any publisher, preprint server, scientific society, employer or author. Thank you to arXiv for use of its open access interoperability.
